Project Airhead was first conceived at the start of the pandemic as a responsive installation that would react to the influx of people within a space. A fully-functioning physical prototype was built, visualising traffic within a building by the expansion and contraction of a balloon.
Using Arduino, scripts enabled its constituent parts—PIR sensor, relay module, servo motor, and air compressor—to work in unison. The result was a live feedback system turning human presence into spatial response.
